The Book of Ruth is by Jane Hamilton, who also wrote A Map of the World.
The movie was a disaster, but the book is unforgetable.

I am so looking forward to summer reading. I feel like such a dope during
the school year because I don't even have time to read a newspaper. I did
read a review last week of a book that deals with all the symbolism and
possible meaning of the images in Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights in a
    fictionalized way. Sounded very interesting.

The movie of The Perfect Storm is a bout to be released. Another incredible
    read.
