IN Wisconsin, esp. in the good school districts, I always heard it was the
"kiss of death" to sub - if you were reliable, great teacher, great
personality, etc. you will never get hired by the district because it is so
hard for them to find good subs it is not worth losing one. It's like a
double indemnity. You want to get out there, and then are condemned if you
do a good job...
