Where did you read that I recomment vouchers to escape public schools.
That was not MY intent at all.
I was merely recommending that people have a choice. Muslims, Jews,
Catholics, atheists, etc. do not
all agree on what should be taught but I believe they have a right to
raise their children with their value system.
Vouchers would create a society where people could choose how to educate
their children. Please do not put words
or prejudices in my mouth. I teach at a public school and proudly so.
But I recognize the need to create a
more just, system where we can freely express our values and convey them
to our children. I have seen
public schools at great odds with the values of parents. This is not
freedom.
