Dear Marsha,
I feel for you.....I worked 3 years with some great teachers as a sub, and
developed such good friendships that when I left for an Art job at another
school, we all made it our business to see each other for dinner once each
month. We've been doing that now for 2 yrs. (We call ourselves the Yayas,
LOL) We even take a day trip together during winter and spring breaks, and
we're planning a boatride/sleepover at Foxwoods this August! Now I'm about
to leave a few fine people at the private school I've been at these last 2
yrs. We are devasted to lose touch with each other, even more so, because we
clung together through some unfair and even dysfunctional times at the
school. Its even hard to leave when you make the choice yourself! So, I
told my friends that we could be "YayasOut East" and make time to get
together from time to time. It'll never be the same as working together, but
I'm looking forward to some fun times with them. If I never left the first
yayas, I'd never have met new yayas! So, I hope my decision to move to the
city school district works out. (Its scary to move on, after you finish
grieving!) I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, and one
door closes and another opens. Wishing you all the best, hope this makes
sense......sometimes I just ramble.......
