Bush didn't develop TASS testing....It was implemented before he became
Governor.
I don't know who reported that, but obviously another politically motivated
scheme to downplay the tremendous efforts by Texas Schools to do
better........but the test in actuality has become more difficult. Also fewer
children can be exempted from the test. Do I think standardized tests tell
it all....no ..but our children need basic skills to compete in this world. I
have been involved in "tearing" the exam down piece by piece so the Fine Art
team can impliment TASS objectives in our classroom. I have found that it
gives students another way of looking at art and taking art more seriously.
As far as scantron tests, they are used to test our children for SAT's and of
course it doesn't stop there...it continues on to any licensing board...even
for our own Teaching Certificates.
